What RTP means
Return to player (RTP) is a long-run percentage of wagers paid back as winnings across many plays. A hypothetical 96% RTP describes an average return of $96 for every $100 wagered across a very large number of wagers. It does not promise that you will get $96 back from a $100 session. Individual results can be far above or below the long-run average.
The remaining percentage is often described as the theoretical house edge. That is why RTP should never be treated as an income forecast.
What volatility means
Volatility describes how unevenly wins may arrive. A higher-volatility game may have longer stretches without significant wins and occasional larger outcomes. A lower-volatility game may pay smaller amounts more often. Both can lose money, and neither becomes “due” to pay after a losing streak.
How to use the information
- Read the specific game’s information screen for its current rules and any stated RTP. Do not assume every version of a named game has identical settings.
- Set a firm budget and a stop time before you play. A lower bet size may make a budget last longer, but it cannot change the underlying odds.
- Do not increase stakes to recover losses. Each outcome is uncertain, and past spins do not guarantee the next result.
